It was the middle of the harshest winter New Jersey had ever seen. Shadow the Hedgehog was on his usual midnight run through 4 inches of snow and more to come..

'This is a ridiculous amount of woah!' He thought as he fell face first in the stiffning cold. He looked behind him and saw an oddly shaped bump in what was his path. Quickley, he crawled next to it and began to wipe away the snow. Shortly, he was able to see some blue..

"What the?" He asked himself wiping away more.

Soon, he found a pair of red shoes and some tan..

'It.. Can't be..' He thought. He quickly pulled the thing out of the snow.

"Sonic!" He cried but got no response from the unconsious hedgehog.

He had to act quick. Who knew how long Sonic had been out here. Swiftly, he picked up the azure creature and ran him back to the house. Sonic was placed in a bed while Shadow ran into the bathroom and began to draw a hot bath. Then, he ran back to the blue furry and took off his shoes, socks and gloves. Gently, Sonic was picked up and carried into the bathroom where he was placed in the hot water. Shadow turned off the faucet and went back to the bedroom, preparing the bed for his unexpected guest..

It had been two days since Shadow had found Sonic in the snow. Sonic had not awakened, but has shown signs that he's still alive. Shadow grew worried, not knowing what to do.. He knew that the kitsune probobly did though...

'What was his name?.. It started with a T.. Tommy.. Taylor.. Tails! That's it!' Shadow thought reaching for the phone.

He quickly dialed a number and the phone began to ring.. After about the third one, someone on the other line answerd.

"Hello?" He asked..

"Hi Tails.. It's Shadow.."

"Hey.. Are you ok? You sound upset.."

"Well, yes and no.. I'm fine.. But my guest isn't.. I found Sonic in the snow two days ago, and he hasn't woken since.."

"Alright... I'll be there in a little bit.. Bye.." He said as he hung up..

'Please hurry Tails..' Shadow thought.

He walked back into his bedroom and sat next to the sleeping blue hedgehog. Then, began to stroke his quills. This didn't even occur to Shadow. He was just thinking of what would happen if... Well.. You know..

'Tails will be very cold when he get's here.. I better make him some hot chocolate and get the fire going.' He thought.

He walked out of the room at the wrong time.. Sonic was now beginning to wake. Slowly, he opened his eyes and looked at his surroundings. He was in a log cabin. He guessed that he was in the bedroom. In the room, there was a window, 2 chairs (one was next to him) and a nightstand with a candle on top. He just sat there for a long time wondering where he was and how he'd gotten there until he heard a knock comming from somewhere. He saw a dark figure pass the entrance to the room he was in, but couldn't make him out..

Shadow opened the door to find a shaking fox.

"H..Hi Shadow.." He said..

"Hey.. Come in.. The fire is on and Hot chocolate just finished.." He said moving out of the way.

Tails gave him the best smile he could and walked inside. Tails quickly grew warm as he walked closer to the fire. Once he sat down, Shadow came over to him with two mugs. One for him and one for Tails. He handed it to the cold kit and sat down too... After a few minutes had passes, Tails began speaking.

"So.. You found him?"

"Yes. In about an inch of snow. I don't know how long he'd been there, or why he was."

"Hm... Well, what did you do with him?" He asked taking a sip of how chocolate, leaving a large brown mustache.

"I brought him back, put him in a hot bath and into the bed. I had put about 5 blankets on him."

"hm.. and he hasn't woken up?"

"No.."

"Well, he probobly just wore himself out, trying to get where ever he was going and got lost."

"Yea.."

"You know how he likes to push himself over his limit.."

"True.." He said finishing up his chocolatey drink.

They sat there for a little, talking about Sonic and his past experiences with eggman. Shadow seemed very interested to learn about Sonic. More like eager. After about a half hour, Tails decided he should leave. Before he left, Shadow gave him a thermus filled with the remaining warm drink. Then he walked into the bedroom to find emerald green eyes darting around the room, confused and lost.

"Hi Sonic.." He sais softly, sitting in the chair that was placed next to the bed.

"Sh..Shadow? Where are we?" He asked looking at Shadow..

"Were at my house.. I found you buried in the snow two days ago..."

"Really?"

"Yea.. What were you doing out there anyway? Especially without anything on.."

"I was on my way to Station Square.. I'm used to the cold. I never thought it would bother me.."

"Well, now you know.. And you are way off.. Were in New Jersey.."

"What?! Damn storm.. "He said pouting.. Shadow just laughed a little.. Sonic sat up, a little suprised. He had never heard Shadow laugh. Or ever be this nice to anyone.. He gave the other hedgehog a somewhat- confused look.

"What?" Shadow asked.

"Well, I have never heard you laugh before. Or be this nice.." Sonic said. Shadow shrugged.

"You wanna see the rest of this place.. It's nothing spectacular since i made it.." He said.

"You MADE this place?! Nice work!" He said.

"Thanks.." Shadow said with a smile. Sonic was once again shocked.

Sonic took the blankets that laid upon him off and swung his legs over the edge of the bed. They felt weird.. Like they were very heavey.. Loaded with lead, but he didn't care. He just wanted to move about. Gently, he slid to the floor, but fell backwards on the bed, trying to grasp something that wasn't there. Shadow chuckles lightly and sat next to the dazed hedgehog.

"I guess being bedridden for two days has made your legs weak." He said as Sonic sat back up.

Shadow threw his right arm around Sonic, and made Sonic's go around him. This made the azure one feel odd, but he pushed it to the back of his mind, grateful for all Shadow was doing.

"On the count of three, we get up.." Shadow said looking into emerald eyes. Sonic nodded solemly.

"One.. Two..THREE!" He said as he hefted himself and the other furry off the bed.

They almost fell back onto the bed, but were able not to. They were unbalanced most of the time, but neither of them cared. They were having too much fun, swaying this way and that with the other. After about an hour of this, Shadow led Sonic back to the bed. Shadow released Sonic as Sonic did the same.

"That was..." Shadow started..

"Fun.." Sonic finished..

"You want some soup? You haven't eaten in two days." Shadow said getting up. Sonic slowly nodded.

"Alright. I'll be back in a few minutes.." He said walking out.

Shadow came back into the room about 7 minutes later with a bowl of soup. He handed it to Sonic and sat down.

"So, why did you choose to live in the woods?" Sonic asked blowing on his soup.

"Well, I get to be away from the world. Besides, It's really nice in the summer..."

"Really?"

"Yea.. I made a special path to run in so i don't get hit in the face with low hanging tree branches or trip on stones.."

"Cool!"

"I guess... You can use it too if you like.. When it get's nicer anyway...."

"Thanks.."

"Don't mention it.." Shadow said with a smile.

"So, explain to me how you turned nice all of a sudden.."

"I would, but I can't! Now eat.." He said walking out.

Sonic did as told and finished about 9 minutes later. That's when Shadow came back in covered in snow. Sonic raised a brow at this.

"Fire wood.." Shadow said wiping the freezing substance off.."

"Ahh.." Sonic said as Shadow took the bowl off the little table..

"Time for some sleep.." Shadow said..

"Aw.. But Shadow!" Sonic whined.. Shadow just gave him an unemotinal glare..

"Yea, yea.. Sleep.." He sighed...

"Good.." He said with a small smile of triumph.

Sonic yawned a little as he rested his head on the pillow and closed his eyelids. He only had one more thing to say to Shadow before sleep took over..

"Thanks.. For all your help.." He said just barely loud enough for the ebony hedgehog to hear.

"Good night Sonic.." He said walking next to the blue furry.

Then, he began to stoke Sonic's quills. After a minute, an odd noise was heard throughout the cabin. Shadow realized that it was only Sonic purring. This put a rather large smile on his face as he walked out. He put the bowl in the kitchen, snagged a book from the counter and sat on the couch. He would have began reading if his mind let him. No matter what he thought of, it would bring him back to the friendly blue hedgehog.

'Why is it whenever i look or even think about him, I feel happier..?' Shadow thought staring into the fire that was burning brightly.

He shook it off and decided to go and check on Sonic one last time before he went to sleep. When he walked into the room, he immediatley felt cold. He looked around in the dark to see some snow through some logs. He sighed knowing he;d have to work on it tommarow. Silenetly and stealthily, he crept next to the azure hedgehog and laid a hand. Sonic was shivering violently in his sleep. Shadow thought what to do for a minute.. Then, picked Sonic up. The second he did, the blue creature began to nuzzle him, trying to get closer to warmth. This made Shadow smile as he picked up a blanket. Shadow tried to wrap up Sonic, but failed. sonic would throw the blanket off of himself, rathering to sleep striaght on warm fur. Shadow sighed, but wasn't sad. He took Sonic and the blanket then walked into the living room. The fire died a little, but was still burning brightly. He sat gently, not trying to hurt the azure hedgehog. Then he draped the blanket over the both of them. He just stared at the sleeping 'angel' until he fell asleep.

Shadow slowly began to wake thanks to the sun. The storm was finally over. He noticed the fire had died and sometime in the night, Sonic switched positions and was able to throw his arms around the black furry. Shadow just looked at him for a little while. Then Sonic began to wake. He gave a loud and long yawn before he realized he was staring straight into crimson eyes.

"Hi Sonic" Shadow said softly.

"Hi Shadow... Where are we?" He asked.

"The living room. My room developed a hole somehow and it was freezing. I couldn't let you sleep in there... You know, you're very clingy in your sleep.."

"I am?"

"Yea.. Why else would I have fallen asleep like this?" Shadow asked with a smile.

Sonic looked around and realized he must have spent the night in Shadow's arms. Then he realized he still had his arms around his counterpart. He quickly took them back...

"Sorry.." He sighed.

"Hey.. Don't worry about it. As long as you're not getting sick, I don't care.." He said with a reasurring smile. They stayed like that for a while...

"I like you better this way.." Sonic said closing his eyes.

"Huh? What way?" Shadow asked stroking Sonic's quills without realizing it.

"Nice.." Sonic said re-opening his eyes. He saw another smile on his counterparts face.

"I'm gonna make you some breakfast.. Alright?" Shadow asked..

"Alright..." Sonic sighed folding his ears back..

"What?"

"Er.. Nothing!" Sonic said crawling off Shadow.

"Alright.." He said getting up and walking into the kitchen. Sonic watched him the whole time..

'Get ahold of yourself Sonic! He's just a friend.. Then, why do I feel alot better when I'm around him? Man this sucks..' Sonic thought.

Shadow came into the room about 15 minutes later with a tray full of Eggs, Bacon and Toast.. He handed the tray to the azure hedgehog and sat down.

"You cook fast!" Sonic said picking up a fork and starting for the eggs..

"Yea, well, I run fast too.. "

"What are you going to do about the hole in your room?"

"I'm just gonna put something over it.. Hm.. Where did that bucket and staplegun go?" Shadow asked himself. Sonic laughed lightly.

"Whats so funny?" Shadow asked putting his hands on his hips. (Don't ask..)

"You can't just put a bucket over it! You need some kind of adhesive.. like superglue or something, and an object bigger then the hole.."

"Since when did you become smart?"

"Always.. You could use some bark from the fire wood you got.."

"Hm.. Maybe i should keep you around more often.." Shadow said walking out of the living room.

"I wouldn't mind.." They both said under their breath..

Sonic got a chance to finish his wonerful tasting food and relax a little before Shadow walked back into the room.. All the fur on his hands were matted down.. He took the tray off of Sonic..

"Sheesh Shads! How much glue did ya use?!"

"Enough.. Do you know how to get it off?"

"Yea.. You gotta soak it in hot water..."

"Thanks.. " Shadow said walking out again.

He came back a minute later with a large bowl. Shadow sat next to Sonic and placed the bowl on his legs. Then, put his hands into the burning water.

"God.. I feel like a girl at a nail salon.." Shadow sighed folding his ears back..

"Don't worry! I wont tell.." Sonic said with a wink. Shadow laughed a little.

"So.. What do you think of Amy.. Like..Do you'd like her? And i want the truth.."

"Alright.. She's an obsessive, annoying little bitch who doesn't know when to give up.." Sonic said crossing his arms.

"Really?"

"Yea! So, what do you think of Rouge?"

"Hm.. Well, She's Stupid, blind, retarted, has an attitude problem nad is obsessed with emeralds.. Am I missing anything?"

"I thought you liked her.. I mean, you used to work with her..!" Sonic said a little suprised.

"So? She was annoying then too.." Shadow said getting up with the bowl of now cold water. Then he walked ino the kitchen.

'So, he doesn't like Rouge.. Maybe I.. No.. He wouldn't like me..' Sonic thought sadly.

Just then, the phone began to ring.

"Wow! You actually have a phone!" Sonic yelled to Shadow reaching for the phone.

"Hello?" He said.

"Hey Shadow! It's Tails.. How's Sonic?"

"Hey Tails.. It is Sonic.. I'm better now.. Hey, how'd you know I was here?"

"Well, I came over the other day. Shadow wanted me to take a look at you.. I had somehow began told him of our adventures with Eggman. He seemed very interested to hear what you did.. I don't expect him to stay that way though.."

"Really? Wow.."

"Hey.. You don't want me to tell anyone your there.. Do you?"

"Hell no.. Shadow would have my head!"

"Alright, I have to go.. Bye Sonic!" Tails said hanging up.

Sonic took the phone from his ear and placed it back down.

"Why would I have your head?" Shadow asked leaning against the kitchen doorway with his arms crossed and eyes shut.

"Tails wanted to know if I wanted him to tell everyone i was here. I told him no."

"Wise decision.. I'm going to go and check on the snow.. see how much there is.." Shadow said opening his eyes and walking to the door.

'I guess he wants me to leave..' Sonic thought sadly.

"Wow.." Shadow said loudly.

"What?" Sonic asked being brought back to reality.

"You gotta see all the snow out there.." Shadow said walking and sitting next to the blue creature.

"There's that much?"

"Yea.. Come on.." Shadow said.

"Let me try to walk by myself." Sonic said standing.

He fell backwards acting like he couldn't support himself so Shadow would help him. Shadow threw his right arm around Sonic. The blue hedgehog responded by giving him his left. They looked and nodded at eachother.

"One.. Two.. THREE!" Sonic said as they both got up.

After a minute of laughing, they reached the door. Shadow opened it. He tried to walk forward, but found himself falling face first in the snow with Sonic on top of him.

"Sonic?" Shadow asked.

"Ssoonniiccc?" He said after he got no response.

"SONIC!" He yelled.

"Wha? Sorry Shadow." Sonic said rolling off him. Shadow sat up.

"It's alright.. Why'd ya stop?" He asked getting up.

"I've never seen the snow like this." Sonic said sitting up and looking at it.

The trees were covered in perfect snow, dancing in the sunlight. The snow on the ground was even better. Not a single flake was out of place. Well, not yet anyway. Sonic could have stared at it all day if he didn't get hit in the face with a snowball.

"Shadow!" Sonic yelled at the laughing hedgehog.

Quickly and swiftly, he scooped up some snow, formed it into a ball and shot it at his double.

"Direct Hit!" Sonic yelled as Shadow tried to say something. He spit the snow out of his mouth.

"This means war hedgehog.." Shadow said turning around. He walked a few feet then collapsed.

"Shadow!" Sonic yelled getting up and running next to his friend.

He put Shadow in a sitting position and began to shake him. Swiftly and unexpectedly, Shadow grabbed Sonic's wrists and his eyes shut open to reveal deveous crimson eyes.

"So you can walk.." He whispered putting his feet to Sonic's stomach making their faces come so close to eachother their noses were touching.

Quickly, he pushed his feet into Sonic hard, but not hard enough to hurt him, making them roll down the snow covered stairs of his wooden deck. They began to wrestle until Sonic gave up under Shadow. Then, Shadow rolled off Sonic with a victorious smirk.

"That was.." He started.

"Fun.." Sonic finished.

"Yea.."

"I hate you though.." He said playfully.

"Come on. Let's go sit." Sonic said sitting up.

"Where?"

"I have some chairs. I gotta wipe the snow oodd'em though.." He said getting up.

"Oh.." Sonic said sitting up. Shadow extened a hand and Sonic took it. The black hedgehog pulled Sonic up then headed for the deck. He walked up the stairs and to the right corner. Just as he said, there were two snow covered chairs. Quickly, he got the snow off of them and sat in one. Sonic sat in the other..

"Shadow.." Sonic started.

"Yes?"

"You don't have to answer this, but what was she like? Maria..?" Sonic asked. They sat in silence for a little until Shadow spoke.

"Like.. You.." He said looking up in emerald eyes.

"Really?"

"Yes... She had a caring soul with a good heart to match. She always tried to do whats right and always stood up for her friends.. And when i say friends, i mean me. I was her only friend abord the Space Colony Ark." Shadow said turning his head. Sonic new he made Shadow remember things he didn't want to.

"Wanna hear a secret?" Sonic said. It took Shadow a minute to come back from his thoughts.

"Alright."

"How can I put this... I'm not one of a kind.." He whispered in Shadow's right ear.

"What do you mean?" He asked as Sonic reached into his quills.

He pulled out a necklace and put it infront of Shadow's face. It was black with a silver guitar charm on it. It was in perfect condition.

"I have a brother and a sister.." He said softly.

"Really??"

"Yes.. And we had the greatest group.. Well, two of them anyway.. One of them I know you would like.."

"What is it?"

"Band.." Sonic said looking at the necklace as memories began to play in his mind.




' I ran into the freedom fighter hangout and saw two other hedgehogs on stage. It was them. My brother and sister. I ran onto the stage.

"What's up? You guys wanna play?" I asked.

"Yea!" They said.

We began to start to play. All our diffrent music working together.

"That was awesome!" My brother said.

"Just one question.. Who are you guys?" She asked.

"Were your brothers!" I said.'




"Sonic?" Shadow asked

"What? I'm sorry Shadow. I couldn't help but remember when I first met them. My brother and sister. "

"Didn't you grow up with them?"

"No.. Our mother had to seperate us when we were babies."

"Oh."

"You wanna see something I haven't even shown Tails?"

"Sure.."

Sonic got up and walked away a few feet. Then he turned to face Shadow. He put on the necklace and in a large flash of light, a green and white guitar appeared around him. The charm was missing.

"Oh my god!" Shadow said getting up.

"Yup! My mom left me this, left my brother drums and my sister a key board. It doubles as a weapon when were together."

"Really? That's cool!" I said walking over to him.

"Yea.."

"Come on.. Let's get you inside before you get sick.. Again.."

"Aw.. But Shadow.. I wanna stay out here and watch the rest of the sunset with you!" Sonic whined.

"We can watch it through a window.. I'll make hot chocolate too.." Shadow said walking to the door. Sonic followed.

They went their seperate ways when Shadow went into the kitchen and Sonic went into the bedroom. He pulled out the two chairs.. More like dragged them to the window facing the sun and picked the blanket up off the floor. The one next to the couch. He sat down as Shadow came in. He handed Sonic a mug of hot chocolate and sat in the other chair. Sonic put the blanket on top of both of them and they watched the beautiful sunset in silence. They would pass glances here and there... After about 40 minutes, the sun was gone and Sonic gave a large yawn.

"Looks like someone's ready for bed.." Shadow said getting up and taking the mugs.

Sonic took the blanket and laid down on the couch. He let out another yawn and slowly closed his eyes as Shadow walked in.

"One.. Thing... You're my best.. Friend.." Sonic said letting sleep take over.

Shadow kneeled next to him. Quickly, he gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"You're my best friend too.." He whispered.

The next morning, Sonic woke up earlier then usual. He noticed Shadow wasn't in sight and went into the bedroom. Just as he thought, there was a sleeping black hedgehog in the bed. Quietly, he walked next to Shadow and crouched down. He gave him a soft kiss on his right cheek.

"I wish I could tell you how much you mean to me.." Sonic whispered. He got u nad went to the kitchen.

'I wonder what Shadow likes..' Sonic thought.

Shadow slowly woke up about a half hour later. He went out into the living room and didn't see Sonic. He went into the kitchen and saw Eggs, bacon, toast and orange juice on the table with a little note next to it. He walked over and picked it up.

I woke up early and waas bored. now eat before it gets cold.

About 15 minutes later, dishes were in the sink and Shadow was dashing for the door. When he opened the door, he saw Sonic face down in the snow.

"Sonic!" He yelled running next to the blue speedster. Shadow put him in a sitting position and began to shake him, but got no response. Now, he was beggining to worry. He shook the blue furry more violently and got.. A yawn?

"Sheesh Shadow! You're makin me sick!" Sonic said getting out of his grasp and going inside. The black furry raced after him. He found Sonic staring into a roaring fire, so he joined him.

"Hey.." Shadow said.

"Hey.."

"You.. Made the fire?" Sonic nodded.

"Thanks.. For breakfast.."

"It's the least I can do.. I owe you big for all your help.."

"Sonic.. You don't owe me anything.. I'm glad to help." He said with a smile.

"Hey Shadow? I need to tell you something."

"And what's that?"

"Well.. I..I.." Sonic said.

His words were always jumbled around Shadow, but now he couldn't even make up a sentence with three words. 'I love you.'

"Sonic? You can tell me anything.." Shadow said putting his left arm on Sonic's shoulders.

"I..I L.." He began as the phone rang.

"I'll get it.." He sighed getting up.

'What was Sonic going to say?!?' Shadow thought both sad and angry.

"Hello?" Sonic said into the phone.

"Hey Shadow! It's Rouge! You wanna hang out with Tails?"

"One second.." He said trying to sound like Shadow. He threw Shadow the phone.

"It's Rouge. She wants to hang out.." Sonic said. Shadow sighed and put the phone to his ear.

"Uh.. Would but i can't! There's too much snow to run in!" He said trying to get out of it.

"Then I'll bring you an emerald.. See ya in a few.." She said hanging up before he could decline. He took the phone away from his ear and sighed again.

"Looks like were going to hang out with a bat and a fox.. yipee.." Shadow said unenthusiastically and sarcastically.

"What's wrong?" Sonic asked taking his seat next to Shadow.

"I don't want to go.. I'd rather stay here with you.." Shadow whined.

"Well, It'll only be for a little while.." Sonic said trying to cheer his counterpart up.

"I guess... And I'd still get to hang out with you.." He said looking into emerald eyes with a smile. Sonic returned it. Then, there was a knock on the door.

"Time to go.." Shadow sighed slowly dragging his feet over to the door. He opened it to find Rouge waiting with the blue chaos emerald.

"Ready to go, hun?" She asked. Shadow looked back into the house, which confused her a bit until she saw Sonic.

"So this is where you've been.." She said. Then she started to go on about great hiding placed or something.. Shadow couldn't take it anymore. He quickly snatched the emerald from her hand.

"Chaos control.." He said coldly. This scared Sonic as the were engulfed by a black light and reappeared infront of the workshop. The look Sonic had was still there.

"Sonic? What's wrong?" Shadow asked.

"N..Nothing.. Everythings f..fine!" He said backing away..

'Gee Shadow.. You scared him... How else are you going to screw up his day?!?' Shadow thought angrily and sadly.

Rouge didn't notice and went up to the workshop's door. She stuck her head in.

"Tails! Time to go!" She yelled. She walked away from the door. Tails walked out a minute later and was shocked by the two hedgehogs.

"Sonic? Shadow? What's wrong?"

"N..Nothing.." Sonic said putting a fake smile on. Shadow didn't say anything... Rouge didn't care about any of this.

"Shadow? Can you take us to Twinkle Park?" She asked. Shadow nodded.

"Chaos control." He whispered.

They were engulfed by a dark blue light and reappeared infront of the park. The light made Sonic feel bad.. Like he could break down into tears right then and there. He realized that the feeling Shadow's chaos controls gave described how he felt.. Sonic felt really bad..

"Come on!" Rouge said running in with Tails right behind, leaving the two hedgehogs alone.

"Shadow?" Sonic said taking hold of Shadow's arm. He snatched it back and slowly made his way into the park.

'Shadow.. I'm sorry..' Sonic thought. He too slowly made his way in.

He saw Tails and Rouge talking while Shadow sat on a bench playing with his emerald. Sonic went over to Tails and Rouge, but before he could say anything, they dragged him on to all sorts of rides.

'At least he's having fun...Without me..' Shadow thought looking at his emerald. He noticed something strange about it. It wasn't the same dark blue that reminded him of Sonic, but a kind of light blue that reminded him of the sky...

'What the hell? Today is really getting on my nerves.' Shadow thought.

After a little while, Sonic was able to sit next to him.

"Hey Shadow! I finally was able to get away from Tails and Rouge." He said. Shadow cringed at the name 'Rouge'.

"Wow.. You REALLY don't like her... Do you?" Sonic asked. Shadow shook his head.

"The emerald... It changed.." He said.

"How?"

"It went from a dark blue to a..." He started..

"There you are!" Tails said.

"We've been looking for you all over the place." Rouge said.

Sonic noticed Shadow didn't like to hear her talk either, so he had to get him out of there..

"Uh.. Yea.. I'm with Shadow.. BYE!" He yelled grabbing Shadow's hand and running away.. They stopped infront of a rollar coaster..

"Thanks.." Shadow said.

"Don't mention it." Sonic said with a smile..

"Uh.. Can I have my hand back?" Shadow asked.

"What? Oh..sorry.." Sonic said releasing Shadow.

'Why'd I have to say something!?' Shadow thought angrily to himself.

"Wanna go on some rides?"

"You mean these machines? Why?"

"Because it's fun! Come on!" Sonic said dragging him on the roller coaster.

After about 3 hours of rides, games and snacks, they decided to call it a day.. Sonic said goodbye to his two friends while Shadow stood at the Entrance/Exit looking impatient...


They decided to head down to the beach. They walked in silence. When they got there, the first thing Shadow did was throw Sonic into the water. He splashed around violently until he realized he could stand. Shadow laughed at that. He didn't realize that Sonic was pulling him into the water until they were up to their waists..

"I'm not afraid of water.." He said triumphantly.

"Really? Even like this?" Sonic said pushing Shadow's head underwater then running out like a madman.

"Sonic!! I'll get you back!" Shadow said after he got out.

They had fun and after a while. Just relaxed on some rocks. Now, It was sunset and the sky was a mix of red's, yellow's and orange's.

"Hey Shadow.. What were you saying about the emerald before?" Sonic asked.

"Heh.. It doesn't matter.. The emerald is now clear.." He said holding it in his counterpart's face...

"Weird.." Sonic said.

"Sonic? What were you going to say back at the cabin?"

"Well, i can't tell you now.."

"Why not?"

"I don't know.. I guess I'm more of a shy hedgehog then a brave one..." He sighed.

"Would a shy hedgehog save lives?" Shadow asked putting his arm on Sonic's shoulders... Sonic pushed it off...

"Well.. I guess what I'm trying to say... Is that.. I hate you.."

"WHAT?!" Shadow yelled.

"I guess not.." Sonic said.

Sonic got closer to Shadow and began to nuzzle him. Shadow was a little suprised, but welcomed it... He pulled Sonic into a hug.. After a little while, Shadow pulled Sonic away..

"So.. You either like me, or are tired.." Shadow said.. Sonic looked away..

"The first one.." He sighed..

"Well, you wanna hear a secret?" Shadow whispered in Sonic's right ear..

"Alright.." Sonic sighed looking back at Shadow.

Shadow leaned closer and closer to Sonic until their lips met. They stayed like that until Shadow broke it..

"I like you too.." Hw whipered into Sonic's left ear..

"Oh Shadow.." Sonic said pulling him into a hug..

"My Sonic.." Shadow said stroking his quills..
