I never could have seen this far. I never could have seen this coming. It seems like my world is falling apart, yeah.

Emerald eyes rolled, soft, furred ears twitching at the sound of his brothers headphones blaring at an overly loud volume. He glanced over at the dark creature, his gaze dancing over the markings that remained unhidden by the muscle shirt he had chosen to wear. Streaks of blood splashed against a velvet ebony canvas, with a light touch of feather on the front. That's how Sonic saw his brother, though he'd never admit it. He saw Shadow as a work of art that could fall apart with ease, though he was obviously not one you would dare cross. Why? Well, one look at his furred, though toned body would give anyone an obvious reason.

His dark, crimson eyes met with the green ones that watched him so delicately, causing them to flutter away, looking out of the window and at the scenery that rushed past them. The two were stuck in the back seat of the car, having been dragged to go out and watch their parents' friends house for the weekend while the four adults were going out of town and out to Vegas. Shadow would be put in charge, since he was the oldest at 18. Sonic was second, lower because he was only 16. Two years younger then his counterpart and brother.

He hated being the smaller of them. Why? Well, that's an easy answer. He always had a big ego, and a mouth to match. He was the fastest runner in the state, and headed for the fastest in the country. He was cute despite who his brother was and girls flocked to him as well. Though, there was one in particular, and she was the main reason he didn't go out much, except for track meets. Amy. Amy rose. She too was a hedgehog, a pink one with short quills, or hair as some refer to them. She usually wore a halter red top with white trimmings at the bottom, along with a matching miniskirt and boots. Her eyes were a darker set of green then Sonics, and she wore these annoying golden bangles that always clacked together whenever she clasped her hands together, which was often.

It didn't take long for the them to get to the house in question, a smile on his face as he saw the big blue eyes of the older child in the home watching them pull up from the house window. During the drive, he hadn't looked back at his brother, afraid that he'd be caught staring again.  He didn't wish for Shadow to raise any questions about the gawking look that his brother was giving him. Everyone thought Sonic was secretly dating the pink hedgehog, Amy, thinking he snuck out at night. But whenever that topic surfaced, Shadow never really played any part, just opting put his headphones in his ears and cranking up the volume.

Sonic undid his seat belt and hopped out of the car, stretching his arms above his head, arching his body forward a little as a natural thing to do. It pulled up his T-shirt that he'd gotten as a joke during the whole Twilight craze, and thought that he might as well wear it today. It was a black, simple T-shirt, but on the front it said, O.M.E.C. And on the back it said, Oh, my Edward Cullen The words were written in glitter letters, which probably stood for some other joke that you'd need to read another shirt to understand. He'd seen the shirt around school, and it said, I love men that sparkle. Along with the T-Shirt, Sonic was wearing generic blue, washed out jeans and his one-of-a-kind sneakers that were red, with a simple and clean white buckle going around it.

He turned and watched his brother get out of the car, trying to look as if he wasn't paying attention to him and was looking at the landscape around him. Shadow was wearing a muscle shirt, as we know, but it was a solid purple color, and baggy jeans that looked like they'd fall right off of him. And because his jeans sagged that much, his black boxers with arrows that had bleeding arrows shooting through them could be seen. They were bunched a little at the top, which meant that they were covering the hem of his pants. Shadows' shoes though too, were one-of-a-kind, made special for him. They were five different colors. Orange, red, white, black and yellow. White and black on the outside, outlined with orange. Red was the heels, and on the bottom were yellow compartments which held wheels that you could pop in and use as skates.

Crimsons looked over at Sonic as he had turned, a faint smirk coming to a tan muzzle before fading away just as quickly as it appeared. The dark creature moved quickly for his appearance, going to the front door and letting himself inside without so much as a knock or even a hello. He went to the living room and lied out on the couch, music still blaring. Their parents got out of the car, but didn't follow Sonic as he went to go inside and stay in, having just put their luggage beside the door, awaiting the adults that were within the home. Sonic went in and smiled as he found himself to be nearly tackled from the shorter, yellow fox that had spotted him as they'd pulled up.

The fox wasn't a birth child of the adults here, but was adopted when he was five. Now, he was 9. Four years of living in this home, and yet he didn't look up to his adoptive father, but up to Sonic. The blue hedgehog seemed to have a way with kids. The fox also had a younger sister, who is now 6. Sonic thought it was good to have them together to have as play mates, but the azure sometimes questioned the older ones' expressions with his baby sister.

Sonic smiled and hugged Tails back finally, his smaller rabbit sister Cream skipping over and joining in with the hug. "It's been so long, Mr. Sonic." She said in a light, though sometimes annoying voice as she nuzzled into his stomach. "Good to see you too, Cream. You too, buddy." He said to Tails and ushered the two away from the front door, letting them say goodbye to their parents. The two sets of adults left money and contact numbers, before leaving for their trip to Vegas. "Lucky bastards.." Sonic heard Shadow grumble from the couch in between songs.

"Oh, shut up." Sonic said, rolling his eyes. It was his usual tone with Shadow, never really softening up with him unless he was sick and couldn't help it. But when sick, he'd always imagined that Shadow was even a little nicer back. He just heard a dry laugh from the other though as another of his songs came on. "Sonic, come on! We got a trampoline. Lets go jump on it!" Tails said, tugging Sonic towards the back door. "Alright, alright." He said and laughed and opened the glass back door, making sure that Cream was following. He glanced up at Shadow and was a little startled to see the others' intent look on him. Shadow had a ghost of a grin on his face as he looked away, as if he had found something funny. Sonic huffed and ushered Cream outside, shutting the glass behind himself. And when he'd turned around, he was oblivious to the fact that Shadow had been and now was again, staring at his ass, and the little blue tail that wiggled and swayed behind him.

One of these days... went through the ebonys mind, earning another dry laugh, continuing to watch Sonic.
