Blue- Chapter 7

Why am I here? What is my purpose?" He asked himself.

"To keep me company!" Sonic said sarcastically from behind.

"You do know that at this moment, that's not helping?" He asked somewhat aggitated.

"Heh.. Sorry.. You know me! I always look to the good of things!" He said with a large grin.

"And you know me. Confused and annoyed." He said crossing his arms, back still to the vampire hedgehog.

"How come?" He asked.

"You should know.." He said walking away.




'Something is happening in the city.. I can feel it..' He thought.

Quickly, he made his way to Station Square to find buildings destroyed and fires all around.

'Who's doing this?' Shadow thought looking around.

"Why I am." A hedgehog said from behind.

A full black hegdehog stood there. He wore no gloves, but black, mahagony and tan shoes. His eyes were mahagony and he had a crazy smirk.

"Well if it isn't Shadow..."

"How do you know me?!" He yelled taking a fighting stance.

"I'd thought you'd remember me.. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk... Here's something to think about.. Sonic is missing.. You came to find him.." He whispered into Shadow's ear before sending a powerful kick to the stomach.

"What are you talking about?"

"The doctor came to get you, but Sonic stopped him. He got you again, but this time, Sonic got himself killed.." He said with a smirk. Quickly, he ran behind Shadow and sent a punch to his skull. Shadow flew forwards a bit, but managed to get back up.

"When you become stronger, I'll find you.. Sayonara, Shadow the hedgehog.." He said as he began to chuckle evilly and ran out of town at amazing speeds.

"Woa! Shadow.. What's going on?" Sonic asked.

"Some crazed hedgehog. Ugh.." He said getting up.

"What did he look like?"

"He was black with mahagony eyes.." He said. Sonic's eyes filled with freight..

"What's wrong?" Shadow asked.

"Uh.. Nothing.." He said walking away.

"Sonic.. What happened?"

"Please.. Leave me alone for a little while.." He said dissapearing.

"What the hell?? This is annoying..' Shadow thought..

He sighed and ran out of the city. Only as far as the outskirts though. It was as if something was pulling him back. Like if he left, he would surely die. He sat in the grass and let the gentle breeze that was blowing, sway through his quills.

'I wonder what had happened to Sonic to make him feel that way.. Maybe I'll find out at a later time. If only I could desipher the dream..' He thought calmly.

"What dream?" Sonic asked from behind.

"Um... I'd rather not say.." He said.

"How did I end up in the bed?" The azure vamp. asked sitting down.

"I woke up and saw you on the floor, so I put you in the bed.."

"Thanks. Your alot better this way, I must say." Sonic said with a smile and closing his eyes.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Many years ago, when I was... A normal mobian and knew you, you always kept to yourself. Never cared about what anyone said and if they talked about you, you'd threaten to kill them."

"Kill.. Them?" Shadow asked suprised.

"Yes. I was one of the ones you tried to kill the most, but it never happened.. It was fun too!" He said with a smile.

"Why would it be fun if I threatened to kill you?" He asked cocking his head to the side.

"Because.. It was really the only time we talked.." He said.

"Oh.. Why was I like that?"

"I'm not too sure." He said shrugging.

"Alright.. So, what did you mean before that I'm the only one who should know what you are?"

"I only want you to know."

"But... Why?"

"Shadow, Shadow, Shadow.." Sonic sighed shaking his head with a smile.

"What?" He asked.

"I'll tell you some other time.. But right now, you need to train.." He said losing his smile. His tone was a serious one as well.

"Train?" He asked.

"Your full of questions today, arent you? You have to fight Nari." He said a little Shakily.

"Who? Do you mean the black hedgehog?"

"Yes.. We must try to get your abilities back to normal, if not better then they once were.."

"Fine.. What would you like me to do?" He asked getting up along with the blue hedgehog.

"Sparring.. Take your best shot.." Sonic said with a smirk.

"I'm not going to hit you..." He said flatly.

"Come on! Unless your.. weak.. Shadow, the supposed 'ultimate life form' is afraid to hit.." Sonic taunted until Shadow threw a punch at him.

"Hold still you rodent." He said angrily.

"Or what?" He asked.

Shadow jumped up and tried to kick Sonic in the head, but missed. Quickly follnowing, he sent a punch to his stomach and finally hit his target.

"That was a sissy hit!" Sonic taunted.

"Hedgehog, your mine!" Shadow yelled.

Quickly, he ran around Sonic and in doing so, kicked him in the back. Then, he jumped up and spindashed right into his head, pushing him to the ground. Sonic quickly grabbed Shadow's leg, making him fall. Shadow growled in frustration and jumped up with Sonic still on him and kicked the hedgehog off. Sonic had gotten flung into a tree, but got right back up.

"If that's the best you got, I may as well leave now.." He said moving his index finger under his nose.

Shadow's eyes dialated, engulfed with rage and anger for the blue hedgehog that called him weak. He wanted to show his strength and knew just how to do it.

"Chaos.. Storm!" He snarled, holding his palm towards the colbalt creature.

Suddenly, Sonic was engulfed in chao energy, but didn't go anywhere. Instead, the dark energy began to rip at his fur, then began to take the flesh off his bones. He let out an agonized cry of pain, not being able to heal himself as he did the previous attacks. Shadow's eyes returned to normal when he realized what he was doing. He suddenly put his hand down, stopping the attack. His eyes filled with tears as he fell onto his knees in exaustion. He had used too much energy, leaving him little to survive... Soon, he blacked out, collapsing onto the grass.
